Discussion

This sub-rectangular spit was the second (the first being 012AD05012) excavated to define the features cut into the chalk on the central western side of the dry valley. The material wasa sandy silty loam (Munsell colour 10YR 4/3). No daub or charcoal flecking was noted. Three features were defined; a quarry pit (012AD05204) and two pits (012AD05266 and 012AD05284).
